Ruth Schettini, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT. License #123254

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with special training that combines with my passion for social change and helping people heal and change. I am also trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I have a B.A in Psychology from BIOLA University, an M.A in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (and a specialization in Latinx Communities) from Pepperdine University and another B.A in Biblical Ministries from BIOLA University. I am also currently working on my Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Fuller Seminary. I have received training in working with children, individuals, families and couples.

I have had the opportunity to work with Severe and chronic Mental illness, foster youth, immigrant families and in residential settings. My professional and personal goals include helping to aid underserved communities in healing, while addressing the very real barriers and systems they face every day along with healing the stigma those communities may face when discussing mental health. Some of my areas of focus are trauma in Latinx and minority communities, Anxiety, Depression, Negative thoughts/ Coping, immigrant populations, adolescents, couples and individuals. I try to approach everyone in a way where I am meeting them where they are at, creating a safe space and being honest and real about the barriers that clients may be facing and how they can start to overcome them. I use a mix of CBT, psychodynamic and humanistic approaches.

Ruth is bilingual (English-Spanish) and is happy to conduct sessions in Spanish as needed.
